In a sad blow to local media, longtime monthly magazine the Valley Voice, formerly The Local, published its final issue this fall, with owner and ringleader Matt Scharf saying it was the publication’s last issue. “Yes, it’s true,” he penned in a Facebook post for the alternative magazine. “This is the last issue of the Valley Voice. That’s me on the cover walking away into an illustration. It’s very tough to let it go. I want to thank everyone that participated in this wonderful adventure. Thanks for everything!” Hopefully, Swillin’ & Chillin’ can help pick up the slack in today’s tough publishing environment—and maybe keep their popular “Rants & Raves” going about our beloved town.
