While it will still have some capacity and distancing restrictions in place, rodeo is back and kicking in Steamboat this summer, after a hiatus last season. Complete with clowns, concessions (BBQ and a Budweiser, anyone?) and high-kicking bulls, the Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series springs to life for nine straight weekends July 1-4 (special 4th of July celebration July 3-4 for 117th Cowboys Roundup Days); July 9-10; July 16-17; July 23-24; July 30-31; Aug. 6-7; Aug. 13-14; Aug. 20-21; and Aug. 27-28. All start times are at 7:30 p.m., except for July 4th at 6:30 p.m.

“In the 42 years I’ve been involved in the series, we’ve never approached a rodeo season with such desire and enthusiasm,” says Arena Director Brent Romick. “We’re planning to get right back where we left off at the end of 2019 providing pro-quality competition and high-level entertainment.” And, yes, we know what you’re thinking; the bull riders wear cups.
