Escalator Etiquette

No, we’re not Vail, but yes, the base of the ski area has an escalator now, leading from the transit station down onto Steamboat Square. And with it comes a few rules – consider it the price to pay for saving your quads that crucial vertical.

• Carry your skis upright (so you don’t spear those behind you or sideswipe those coming the opposite way).

• The bottommost tread is the alcohol boundary, so bottoms up.

• Please, no rail grinds.

Bonus Advice: Use the brushes on the sides of the treads to rub your boots free of snow (and get snow off your soles by knocking them against the edge of the treads); and be careful your pole tips don’t get caught in the treads’ grooves.
